Sahara Artifacts at the Museum of Andalusian Music

When I was first led to the Museum of Andalusian Music, I didn’t even know what kind of museum it was. I actually never agreed to go to the museum but the guy was just walking in front of me and all of a sudden we were right there outside the museum. He said he won’t ask for money since it is owned by his uncle or something. I have heard enough for the “won’t ask for money” bit to know not to take their word for it, but I will see when I get out of the museum. The museum is named for its collection of musical instruments but I think the more interesting stuff they have here are the ones which relate to the Saharan culture.

I know next to nothing about this culture apart from a few stereotypes but it is it fascinating to see what they have here. Much like the rest of the world, the Sahara was also divided into kingdoms. This is a collection of artifacts which they have gathered. What is most interesting is how their lives have become intertwined with the desert. What I found most interesting at the costumes on display here. Seems like these are costumes of princesses. They even have those wooden seats which their servants would carry while the royalty would sit comfortably inside and sheltered from the sun. It is really fascinating to see and imagine how these were used back then.
