I was very taken by the beauty of Bowman Lake. It was almost at par with the beauty of Lake McDonald. One could even argue that Bowman would be prettier. There were far less people here and the place was very serene. Most people here would just sit by the shore and just look at the beautiful scenery, as did I. Bowman Lake like most of the lakes in the region are long lakes. Most people would arrive here at the campground which is also at one of the pointy ends of Bowman Lake. This gives you a beautiful view of the lake bounded by mountains.
Visitors can walk along the shore of the lake but going around the entire lake might take a long time. I only wanted to move around just so that I can see the lake from another angle. It would have been night had there been an overlook to see the lake in its entirety but there was no such place nearby. The lighting that day wasn’t very good as the sky was overcast. The sun would be peeping in and out and I would keep waiting to see if the colors would improve. I’m pretty sure that the color of the lake it fantastic but I wasn’t getting that. It guess it is because the weather was already transitioning into winter that it was cloudy like this. It would definitely be great to come here during the summer but you would have to share the lake with much more people.
