Scenery at Two Medicine Lake

Relaxing Time at Two Medicine Lake

I was very pleased with my visit to Two Medicine Lake. I was thinking that I might not be able to visit the lake since it was quite a drive away from West Glacier. I was glad I made the trip. Two Medicine Lake isn’t as visited as Lake McDonald so it is even more tranquil than you might expect. When I hiked to Paradise Point, it felt that I was the only person in the entire area. I only left because I was concerned that there might be bears in the area. If something would happen to me, no one would even know, except for the bear. Fortunately, nothing untoward happened and I made it back to the car park.

It might be understandable if most people don’t even make it past the car park. That spot is already on of the most picturesque in the entire park. At the time of my visit, snow hasn’t fallen yet so the mountain tops were bare except for some isolated glaciers. I can already imagine how nice it would be to be here when there is snow. Then again, I can also imagine how difficult it would be to move around if there really is snow. I don’t know how often they would plow the roads here or even if they do plow them. In the winter, parts of the Going to the Sun Road would be closed to traffic because of snow. I could imagine it would be difficult to get around during that season. Obviously, the scenery of Glacier National Park is dependent on the seasons and I think it would be a nice experience to be able to come here during the winter.
