I was a bit disappointed going to Flathead Lake since the weather wasn’t very nice. By the time I left Flathead Lake State Park, it was already starting to drizzle and making it even colder than it already was. I decided to call it quits and head back to the car. However, I didn’t want to leave the town of Bigfork just like that. I was hoping to get some nice lunch before leaving since I was already disappointed with the lake. I managed to find this place called the Flathead Lake Brewing Company. It seems to be highly rated so I decided to give it a try.
The Flathead Lake Brewing Company is a restaurant and bar which is perched on a hill which overlooks Flathead Lake. It doesn’t actually directly overlook the lake since there are still a residential area between the restaurant and the lake. Still, if you want to eat here with a great view of Flathead Lake, this is probably the best spot to do it. By the time I got there, the sun was somewhat peeking through the clouds so I thought of sitting outside what you can see Flathead Lake better. That wasn’t the wisest decision since the wind was strong and most importantly, the air was cold. I held my ground and didn’t transfer back inside though.
For my lunch, I went for a pulled pork burger. I know it might sound ordinary but I guess I just wanted to try it. It was better than I thought it would be. The pulled pork was very flavorful and it came perfect with their excellently prepared fries. I thought their fries were too large that it would be starchy, it was was perfect. I was eating it while trying to keep out the cold wind. There were actually heaters outside but wasn’t sitting near one.
Additionally, this restaurant seems to be some sort of landmark. As the name implies, they brew their own beer. Since I was driving, I didn’t get to taste their beer, in hindsight, I probably should have just got a few bottles back and tried them in the cabin. They also have some nice merchandise here, pretty good if you really like their stuff.
