Flathead Lake is one of the scenic places which can be visited in this part of Montana. That is on a good day. I seemed to have rotten luck and came here on a cloudy and windy day. The sky was overcast and the waves on the lake were rough. It is not as if I didn’t know it wouldn’t be good. I would think that there are a lot of activities centered around the lake such as boating and fishing but this time being close to winter, such activities have essentially stopped. For those still keen on going out this time of the year, there is still the park.
Flathead Lake State Park, as the name implies is a major park in the state of Montana. It is basically a park built on the northern shores of Flathead Lake. As far as I can see, it is not a very large park. I decided to see what is in the park. It is actually not too far from the dock where I was. This part of the park is actually slightly elevated. It is not very tall but it gives you the impression that you are slightly above the lake. I was hoping to see nice cliff scenery here but there obviously won’t since the waves in the lake waters won’t be that strong like ocean waves would be. The trail itself wasn’t that interesting, besides, it started to rain, I just head back to the car to ponder my next move.
