I was hoping against hope that the weather would clear up by the time I get to Avalanche Lake but it wasn’t meant to be. The constant rain caused a persistent mist to form and obscure much of the view, not to mention that it got my lens all wet. The water droplets on my lens basically ruined all my shots. My phone managed to take slightly better photos only because there is less lens to wet. It was almost impossible to keep my lens clear at that time so I just gave up. Most people would end up at one end of Avalanche Lake. This is the one which looks directly at the wall of mountains giving it an amphitheater like feel. This viewing area is large enough to accommodate visitors and it is probably the best spot to appreciate the lake.
The trail does continue on to the right and you would be basically following a trail which is just behind trees. It was difficult to walk here since the path was already muddy because of the rain. For people who persevere in the short walk, you would be rewarded with another angle of Avalanche Lake. This time you can see where the water goes to. There are much fewer people who go to this spot if only because the trail was muddy. Visitors can still proceed on but I didn’t know where it goes. I only think there is going to be more muddy trails after this. I relaxed a bit at the lake show before heading back to the original viewing area.
