Mount Wilbur at Many Glacier
I was very happy that I got to do several things here along the eastern side of the Going to the Sun Road. I managed to hike to Hidden Lake and also to Saint Mary Falls. I was ready to head back to West Glacier and I was getting the destination ready in my satnav, I noticed that there was another well known area which is not too far away from where I was. Many Glacier is one of those places which feature prominently in my research on Glacier National Park. It was around 30 minutes away, I and thought that it was still early enough that I can still make a trip to Many Glacier first before heading back to West Glacier.

Getting to Many Glacier isn’t that difficult especially if you have satnav. There are also signs which would point the way to Many Glacier. After the turn off from the main highway, the road to Many Glacier gets a bit rough. It seems that the road has become damaged and there are quite a few potholes to avoid here. I suppose that the snow here makes it difficult to maintain the road while still trying to keep it open. Additionally, the snow itself can damage the road. That means, these roads would effectively be in a constant state of repair. However, help seems to be on the way, the next two years would see a more concerted effort to repair this part of the road system. Hopefully, it would make it easier to come here the next time.
