For a hike which was marked as easy, the hike to Hidden Lake at Glacier National Park was surprisingly strenuous for me. I haven’t done this in a while and I wasn’t even prepared to do this today. The hike is actually not that long but a lot of sections where just climbing sections and I really disliked these parts. Various thoughts were running through my mind including why I was doing this or am I that out of shape or even maybe I was still acclimatizing since this place was quite high up. As I hiked, I noticed that there were people of various age groups including those who are significantly old than I was. I thought that if they could do it, I can do it.
Thankfully, the destination was not too far away. There was a platform here for visitors to admire the beautiful scenery. Below the valley is Hidden Lake and rising behind it is Bearhat Mountain. I guess it is shaped like a hat but I don’t think it would be suitable for a bear. You can see that Hidden Lake catches all the glacial melt in this area. There are other mountains which surround the lake and you can see some traces of ice here. I think hike is a very good introduction to hiking here in Glacier National Park. I don’t think this would be the last one I would do here in the park.
