Logan Pass is the highest point here in the Going to the Sun Road. From here, you can really appreciate the wild mountain scenery. It was still at the tail end of summer so there wasn’t much snow yet. There are some parts of the mountains which do have it but not a lot of them do. It makes me wonder if I should have come later in the year. This being still summer, there were some activities are still open this time of the year. Logan Pass is actually the launching point for one of the most popular hikes in the park.
I don’t think I was prepared to go hiking today. For one thing, I didn’t even decide to go to the Going to the Sun Road in the first place if it weren’t for the beautiful weather that day. I was kind of hoping that I would explore some other areas first and get acclimatized before heading off for one of the hikes. One good thing about this is that there would be better weather for hiking. That is a good thing since the weather here on top can change very quickly. This means that if you see good weather, make sure you are flexible enough to change your plans. In my case, it seems I would be going hiking.
