I got a chance to visit the United States recently. We were due for a meeting in Minneapolis and I was honestly very excited to go. I has been a while since I was last on a business trip. But as far as business trips go, this one was probably the least stressful one I have ever had. Our hosts were very hospitable and they were taking care of our every need. They even brought us out for various activities, even stuff which I probably wasn’t initially interested in. But before all that, we first needed to check in our hotel. We stayed far from the city center in Minneapolis but I guess that was okay since we won’t need to go there that often.
We were booked at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites. Obviously this was my first time here but this place feels different from the other hotels I have stayed at. There was much space here. Even the rooms were massive. The windows don’t really have much of a view as it is just facing the car park. The hotel has a Venetian Theme going for it. The hallways and lobbies have been decorated with Venice in mind. It is nothing like the actual Venetian but it was a nice change from the standard hotel look.
There is also an indoor water park. This is perfect for families who come here. I didn’t get a chance to swim because I was too busy. But it seemed to be nice place to play in. I noticed that it was really warm in the water park. I guess this helps since Minnesota can get really cold especially in winter. There is a restaurant and a dining area here which serves great breakfasts. I would end up leaving full and sleepy afterwards. I loved how the Holiday Inn and Suites presents itself as a destination on to itself. Location wise, it is in the middle of some kind of retail park. The area is is quite large so it would be good to have your own transportation here especially when going around at night.
