The mountains at Achill Island were high enough for clouds to cover. I took a mountain road which brought me to Minaun Heights which has great views of Achill Island, that is, on a good day. That day wasn’t a good day. The cloud cover was so thick, it was difficult to even see the road in front of you. I managed to make my way to the top despite the cloud cover but there was little see because of it. I guess, I just wanted to experience driving up something like that. It was definitely hair raising since you could potentially drive off the mountain just like that. Since, there was little to see here, I decided to head back down. I was sorry that I didn’t get to see the view but I did get to experience something else.
I need to go down a good deal to get away from the clouds. However, after I come down from the clouds, the scenery below unfolded. It was difficult to know how high up I really was until I saw the view below. I was surprised they built the road to the top in the first place. I know there is a cell tower there but I don’t know what else is there apart from the view. Anyway, I drove down and managed to get photos of some grazing sheep. It is quite amazing to know how high they actually go, since I was hearing sheep at the top of the mountain.
