One of the highlights of visiting Achill Island is visiting Keem Beach. I wasn’t sure if this was a good idea for me since it was still overcast and it doesn’t make me want to swim in the sea. This is typical Irish weather, which makes it difficult to get nice blue sky photos anytime you want to, even in summer. No point complaining about it now. I was trying to make my way to the westernmost point of Achill Island, since this is where Keem Beach is. The road basically follows the coastline even as it started getting hillier. Before you know it, the road is already high above sea level and the view is starting to become even more impressive.
I was wondering if there is some kind of village that is in the western end of Achill. I would have been great if they just built the road so visitors can have a look at Keem Beach but if there is no village there it would have been a huge expense just for the chance to look at Keem Beach. At this point in the road, I noticed that there are more vehicles coming my way. It seems that I was going in the right direction. Already, I have a great view of the Atlantic to the left, I just need to be careful to keep my eyes on the road lest I get a really good look at the Atlantic.
