I got a chance to visit Singapore for a couple of days. It felt like ages since I was last here and part of me feels a bit nostalgic just being here. I got to eat a lot of food I have been missing and I also met up with a lot of friends. I was trying to crash with a friend of mine but the room was occupied so I just booked a hotel for a couple of nights. I stayed at Champion Hotel City. This is a tiny hotel in the middle of the city and was my home for a few days.
I got this on a bargain and I was wondering what room I got since it seemed to be in the center of town. I seems like it was a tiny room. I didn’t really mind the tiny room, in fact, it was amusing to see how much they tried to optimize the space of the room. The bed is actually higher than normal. I had difficulty getting on the bed since it was that high. There is a small set of steps at the foot of the bed to help you get up. The reason why the bed is so high was because they turned the space under the bed into storage area for your luggage. Pretty ingenious, right? The room had most of what you would expect from a hotel. It has television though you might be a little too close for it. Just don’t let your mother see you. There was a bathroom on the other end of the room. The location of the hotel is also great since it is a short walk away from Clarke Quay MRT station. The immediate area of the hotel isn’t that interesting, though it sits right across Hong Lim Square which is a park. The nice parts of the city such as Clarke Quay and Boat Quay are just a short walk away though.
