Entering Ximending
It feels like it has been ages since I last visited a place as busy as Ximending in Taipei. It feels like the whole of Taipei is here shopping and eating. The streets are wide and can accommodate all these people. I remember the shopping streets of Hong Kong were just as busy but somehow Ximending feels less dodgy. There are no street side vendors which are common in Hong Kong and the streets themselves are very clean. This despite the fact that there are a lot of eating places here in Ximending. I ended up eating the famous Hot Star Fried Chicken here but that should not be the last of the snack stalls.
Eating from a Toilet at Ximending
There are several alleyway to stroll in and explore. There was another section in the district which had food stalls. They did serve much of the same stuff which I have seen elsewhere in Taipei notably in Shilin. I just goes to show you how many options you have when eating here. I would probably spend some more time wandering around before deciding on where to have my dinner. But looking at the shops here I think I would have a hard time looking for a proper sit down restaurant.
