Much as I was excited to finally reach the Taipei 101, I still had to continue my walk. Taipei 101 used to be the tallest building in the world that was until the current record holder the Burj Kalifa was built. Its rank has since gone down over the years with several taller buildings built in China. Among these modern skyscrapers, I think the Taipei 101 has the most unique design which is basically modern mixed with Asian aesthetics. I think I need to see more of this after I take my photos from afar. For this, I would need to go to Elephant Hill.
I was glad that the rain has stopped and that there are low lying clouds which obscure the top of Taipei 101. There is a hill not too far from the new area where Taipei 101 was built and it seems that you can get nice photos of the city from there. There is a metro station to Elephant Hill or Xiangshan 象山. The path passed through a park and it is all uphill from there. I was glad that the rain has stopped or it would have been a wet walk to the top. I am just hoping that the weather holds up so I could take a decent photos this time.
