The sun was rapidly going down the horizon and was just about ready to leave. I managed see the scenery here at Jiufen when there was a break in the clouds. I couldn’t tell how high the place was until I saw the sea. I was quite surprised to know that it was that near the sea. From Jiufen, you can easily see Keelung city 基隆 which is one of the major northern ports of Taiwan. Most of the time though, the scenery was obscured by clouds. It is a pity since it would be nice to see it. Maybe it wasn’t the rainy season then one would easily admire the view from here.
Once the sun had gone down, the lights of Jiufen start lighting up. Jiufen has gone full night market mode now and I don’t think it is a bad thing. From the viewing deck, you can have a look at the lights of Jiufen. It is kind of strange to see this since Jiufen is on top of a mountain. The light here make for great photography if it weren’t for the constant rain. I took a few photos of the night scenery at Jiufen and made my way to the bus stop heading back to Taipei.
