Much as the weather is trying is best to dampen my mood. I can’t help but admire the waterfall at Shifen. The waterfall has a modest breadth. This is no doubt helped by the constant rain but it also worth remembering that the Keelung River is the one feeding the waterfall. It is a major river in this part of Taiwan and I think you can see it here. Much as I want to be impressed with Taiwan’s Niagara, it is hard since it wasn’t that tall to begin with. I took my photos and continued on. I don’t really have time to soak in the scenery since I was already soaked to the bone from the rain.
There is more to this area than that waterfall. The river continues on and it seems that there is a park that was built along the river. I probably shouldn’t be surprised to see this since this really is a lovely spot to walk at. There were also some restaurants here but they didn’t seem to be that lively probably because of the rain as well. At least, I managed to find some shelter from the rain. I don’t have any idea how far the park stretches hopefully, this would be worth it.
