I finally checked in the Hey Bear Capsule Hotel in Taipei. I needed to hurry back to the hotel to make sure I have a spot. With that out of the way, it was time for dinner. While I would very much like a proper sit down restaurant, Taiwan is actually famous for their stand up eating places – night markets. I have heard of their famous night markets and I was hoping to be able to visit them one of these days. Well that time has come. I decided to go to the most well known of them all – Shilin Night Market.
The night market has a metro station not too far from it. As the train passed near the night market I could see the bright lights of the night market which confirmed that it was the famous night market. The metro station was further down the road from the starting point of the night market but it is a long street and I ended up at another end of the night market. It seemed that everybody there was carrying something in their hands I got a feeling that I would be here for a while walking up and down the crowded street figuring out what to eat.
