For me, it was quite a shock to my system to plunge straight into a very busy place after staying in the country for so long. I would like to think I better appreciate the slower pace of life in the country but I do miss the convenience of the city. Tourist crowds have been something I have come to dislike, unfortunately, I myself am a tourist here in Taipei. The Lungshan Temple is Taipei’s most well known temple and it shows. There are droves of tourists here. A lot of them are tour groups from various countries as well. I think I have forgotten my dread of the Chinese tour group but I think this has refreshed my memory.
It has been ages since I last visited a Chinese temple and everything that comes with it. At least they seem to have kept the place very well maintained. It doesn’t look like this temple was last rebuilt more than 70 years ago. I was surprised to see that they even have an artificial waterfall here. The waterfall is actually very tastefully done. It was designed like those Chinese paintings and I think they are quite pretty. Naturally, this was a place for people to take their selfies. The rain doesn’t seem to show any sign of stopping so I decided to leave, hopefully, it will let up while I’m traveling.
