Our latest destination in our tour of Sintra is the Cabo da Roca or Cape Roca. This part of Sintra seems to be very popular with all the tour buses converging here. Although I got an idea of how busy Sintra can be when we visited Quinta da Regaleira, the crowd at Cabo da Roca seems to be in a different scale. Our tour guide was asking if there was something about this place which makes it popular to Chinese tourists but we had no idea. Most of the people were concentrated around a monument which marks Cabo da Roca as the westernmost point of Europe. How important that was never really stuck to me until I realize that this is the westernmost point of the entire Eurasian landmass, now that is impressive.
Anyway, people taking turns taking photos with the monument. I noticed that there was something out of place here. There was a full grand piano here and there were people playing it. It was a strange sight to see here as a piano would have been the last thing I expected to see here. It was obviously set up here because a van would later come and pick it up. It would be a waste to have the piano out here in the open if it rains. We managed to get our photos of the monument but getting ahead of people hesitating to step forward to take photos. With the number of people there, we were lucky to have gotten any photos at all.
