Going to Benwee Head

I think I am falling behind my schedule. It was already afternoon and I am still at the Céide Fields. I need to make it to Galway by evening but I think I am a bit late. I had a quick lunch at the visitor center at Céide Fields before heading off. I was just following the trail of the Wild Atlantic Way. This is a long stretch of road as it goes from the north in county Donegal to county Cork in the south. County Mayo is probably closer to the center of the route. Fortunately for me, it was easy enough for me to follow the trail. There are numerous signs along the way and it is easy for me to find my way. There are signs for important places for tourists so I have a rough idea of what to follow.

I enjoy trips like these where I just need to drive and just let the road point me where to go. A lot of these signature points have already been pointed out by the tourism office so I just need to go there. What is nice about these types of places is that they are for the most part free. After all, you can’t really charge an entrance fee for a cliff, fortunately, they haven’t thought about that yet and I hope they don’t. My next destination is Benwee Head. Again, I have not heard of this place, but is seems to be another important point. I hope the weather lets up this time.
