I got my photos at Downpatrick Head and head back to the car. It wasn’t the best of days for photography. I was hoping that other locations would have better weather. I would be following the road around county Mayo and see what can be seen here. The next interesting spot along the way is the Céide Fields. Apparently, it is a Neolithic site which is considering one of the more important places in Ireland as far as anthropology is concerned. I have heard about this place before but it never stuck to me until I actually came here. There are signs pointing here so it was difficult to miss.
Céide Fields is along the main highway so it is really easy to find. It is also along the coast, so there is plenty of views here. Fortunately for me, the weather seems to be slightly better here. It is a bit drier but no less windier. It is probably even more exposed compared to Downpatrick Head which is lower in elevation. This is a parking area here for visitors. The main place is not that hard to miss. Just head straight for the pyramid shaped building.
