When I first drove the Inishowen 100 driving route, I thought that I wasn’t able to visit a lot of the important stops since I lacked time in the end. I decided that I needed to go back there to make sure I didn’t miss anything. The next time the weather was okay, I decided to go for it. The thing with Ireland’s weather is that it changes to quickly that if you see that there is good weather, just try to do outdoor activities in the sun since the weather changes to quickly that you wouldn’t know when it will be back. There was a bit of sun that morning so I decided to just go for it.
I didn’t stop at all the places that I previously visited but one place which intrigued me was the Five Fingers Strand. It is basically a long stretch of beach with large sand dunes. To the right of the beach was a hill which overlooks the beach itself. I thought that that would be the perfect place to take a photo fo the beach. I was sure I missed the spot the previous time, now I will make sure I do not miss it. There is a road just past the turnoff to the beach. This road goes up the hill and almost overlooking the beach itself. The area appears to be private property so there is only far you can venture into. There is a fence which keeps visitors to one side of the viewing area. Unfortunately, you can still see the hill you are standing on from here. I wasn’t sure how to get a proper photo of the beach apart from operating a drone which you can fly beyond the ledge. I was glad to find the place, but my photos were far from satisfying. I probably need to start saving up for a drone of my own.
