I have explored part of the south of the island and I already had lunch. I think I am falling a little behind schedule in my exploration of Aranmore Island, so I need to hurry it up a bit. Fortunately, I brought the car along and I would have no problem crisscrossing the island. There are people who explore the island on foot but I think that is best left to people who plan to spend the night here. I later found out that there interior of the island is quite high and I don’t think my legs would be able to take a whole day of climbing.
With car in tow, I drove all the way up the central part of the island. It wasn’t a full fledged mountain since it wasn’t really that high but it is high enough to see the surrounding area. Near the top I came across a lake named Lough Shore. I wasn’t expecting one here this high. There was a slight illusion since I thought the Lough Shore was the sea. This couldn’t have been since I was quite high up sea level. There is a decent road here for vehicles and hikers. The road actually runs right by the lake which make it a nice stopover on the way further on.
