I think I spent too much time at Killeen’s of Aranmore. I was invited on a grand tour of the hotel/guesthouse in the possible hope that I would be interested to buy the hotel. Unfortunately for them, I didn’t have that kind of money with me. The view is certainly amazing from the hotel. The viewing deck is also a great feature of the hotel so people can hang out there if the weather is good. I don’t know how bad the weather gets here in Aranmore but I wouldn’t be surprised if they bore the brunt of any Atlantic storms which come Ireland’s way.
I realized that it was already past lunch time I still have a half a day ahead of me. I needed to move faster since I only covered the southern half of the island. I went back to the port area to look for a place to eat. There aren’t too many choices here. Aranmore is a small island and it only has a few pubs here. I ended up at Early’s Bar which has a prominent sight near the port area. It was actually larger than I expected. There was a the main pub area which has a dining area. This is where I had my lunch of a simple burger. There are additional rooms here which seem to be more like dancing halls. I would imagine that people would rent this place for parties or maybe people come here for dancing on the weekends. It seems that Aranmore is simple enough for that kind of lifestyle to persist.
