Glencar Waterfalls

I finally got to enjoy my visit to Mullaghmore instead of running to and from the car just to take photos. The weather was definitely cooperating so I would consider myself lucky. There are a few nice spots nearby and it was still early afternoon. I figured that we would try to make the most of the beautiful weather before it goes away. Not that far from Mullaghmore Head were signs pointing to Glencar Waterfalls. Like Mullaghmore, I have visited Glencar Waterfalls before and also it was in less than ideal conditions. However, when it comes to waterfalls, you would usually prefer to visit them after there was rain. I don’t know if this was the case with Glencar Waterfalls but I will find out.

Glencar Waterfalls is not too far away from the shores of Lough Glencar. This is a long lake which is bounded by mountains. It really is a very picturesque area. There are a few stopping points here but I think I would first go to the waterfalls first before checking out the lake. Then again, with good weather I might have been better to just go to the lake since the waterfall is in an enclosed area and is hardly even light by the sun directly. I walked in to the grounds and I was surprised to see more people now. It seems that tourism is picking up here. The Glencar Waterfall is just as impressive as it was back then. There are viewing decks where people can take their selfies but I don’t do that kind of thing. I tried to get long exposures of the falls and they didn’t seem to be bad. What do you think?
