It seems I took too much time exploring the first half of the Inishowen 100 and that the driving route was much longer than I anticipated. There are multiple stops along the way and visitors will not run out of places to see. However, it was getting late in the day and I think I need to wrap it up. From Culdaff beach I just continued on the driving route and eventually hitting the eastern coast of the Inishowen peninsula. There are a few large towns here on the eastern shore such as Moville and Greencastle. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to visit them anymore. I did, however, stop by the village of Stroove.
The village probably has two main attractions. First is the light house which stands atop some headland. It occupies a prominent location since this area marks a corner of the Iniswhoen peninsula. I wouldn’t be nice if ships ran aground because it was a sharp turn. The Stroove lighthouse appeared to be an interesting place but somehow I couldn’t figure out how to get in. There was a gate which didn’t seem to be open. I wasn’t sure if this is the case all the time or I was just unlucky to come here when it is closed. I could only admire it from the outside and from further away. There is a beach on the opposite side of the lighthouse where visitors can get a better view of the lighthouse as well, make sure not to miss it.
