I enjoyed walking along the shores of the Lough Swilly. The weather was nice and the water was still. It was like you could not go wrong when you take photos this day. The walk brings visitors to the center of town and I didn’t realize that it leads people to a park. Swan Park is at the end of the walk and it seems like there is something special here. My eyes were immediately drawn towards a stone bridge which crosses a small stream which goes into the park. The bridge has multiple arches typical of old Irish bridges I have seen elsewhere in the country.
There weren’t any signs about the bridge which lets me believe that the bridge is actually a recent construction probably as part of the nearby Swan Park. I spent a few minutes here taking photos of the stone bridge since I don’t get to see them that often. I didn’t go in the park but it seems that there is a castle here named after the town. The castle is actually a large house which it not that different from the old castles which I have seen in other parts of the country. I didn’t know of Buncrana Castle, perhaps that I another reason to come back here.
