Today is the last full day I have in Bordeaux, I will be flying out of the country the following day and continue to live my life of boredom. I decided that I would just be taking it easy this last day and just try to see what is in the city. I don’t plan to do an amazing race type of day that I would be exhausted at the end of the day. Even if I haven’t been actively seeking out these important landmarks, it seems that they were easy enough to run into. It was just a matter of following the general direction of the river since Bordeaux is essentially shaped by the river Garonne.
Another one of these gems that I found is the Holy Cross Church not too far from the Basilica of Saint Michael. I would have thought they would already have enough churches here but it seems you can never have enough of them. The Church of the Holy Cross is another impressive piece of architecture. This church was built in the 11th and 12th centuries. It is actually attached to an even older abbey. The design of the church is Romanesque with all the prominent rounded arches. It seems that I have yet another church to explore.
