I was rather disappointed with the uninspiring lunch I had. I was hoping to have a great meal before I leave the country but it turned out to be a wrong choice. With that out of the way, it was time for me to explore the beautiful city of Bordeaux. The name already inspires images of elegance and grace but I never knew that just fifteen years ago, this wasn’t the case here. At the time, Bordeaux was an unpleasant city with all sorts of people walking around. The buildings were unmaintained, basically it wasn’t a nice place to visit. Fast forward to the present and there was a huge transformation in Bordeaux and everything seems to be very nice and clean. It is even safe to walk here at night, this wasn’t the case before.
I was thankful for this transformation since I was never aware of this. I remember that feeling when I first visited Paris, my friends and I ended up in a not so nice part of the city. While, nothing untoward happened, it left a bad taste in my mouth and sullied the image I had of Paris. This probably won’t be the case in Bordeaux since it looks like the whole city has been renovated. There are a lot of beautiful buildings to see here in Bordeaux, I would be starting with the nearest one to the hotel and that is the Bordeaux Cathedral.
