I realized that there was a totally different side of Toulouse which I wasn’t able to explore. I managed to get back my strength for exploring and discovered the River Garonne which runs through the city of Toulouse. I was under the impression that the capitole area was already the city center and I didn’t think that there would be another side for me to visit. Fortunately, my belly was satisfied and I was ready to continue exploring. I don’t have a specific itinerary here in Toulouse so I just kept on wandering. Now that I came upon the River Garonne, things have started to become clearer.
The River Garonne cuts through the middle of the city of Toulouse as it makes it way to the Atlantic. Seems like the Garonne comes all the way from the Pyrenees Mountains, also another interesting place. However, that is another adventure for another time. The Garonne winds its way through the city and eventually heads west to the Atlantic. There are naturally a number of bridges here and I first came upon the Pont Neuf, which despite its appearance, it actually a new bridge as the name implies. It seems that there is a path along the river for walking but I don’t think it would be wise in rainy weather like this.
