Toulouse seems to be a great place to just randomly explore places. There are a lot of streets which have been pedestrianized. I could take all day to explore the city center. However, I still need to prioritize certain places. I was meaning to go to the main basilica of the city and I was cutting through some streets to make it there. I unexpectedly ran into this rather interesting looking church. This was the Notre-Dame du Taur. The church of Notre-Dame du Taur is rather interesting to look at. The first thing one would notice how the facade would essentially be the bell tower itself.
The church appears to be narrower than most but the bell tower is wide enough to accommodate a church inside. Like a lot of the structures in Toulouse, the material of choice in building the church is red brick. It is interesting how most of the buildings here ended up with that material. Perhaps everyone was using it that the price of the material went down due to oversupply. The main claim to fame of Notre-Dame du Taur is that it is supposedly built on the spot where Saint Saturnin or Sernin got detached from the bull which was used in his martyrdom.
