I had a wonderful nights stay at the Ibis Budget Hotel in Toulouse Matabiau. It was not too far from the Matabiau train station but it wasn’t that near the city center of Toulouse. It wasn’t really that big a deal since I would get to see more of the city. I guess you could say that the hotel was just outside the city center so as long as I walk in the city, I should end up in the center. The city of Toulouse seems to be a very beautifully preserved city. A lot of the buildings here in the city use red brick which I find very attractive for old buildings. The fact that a lot of them use it make Toulouse look very uniformed. I understand that Toulouse is also making a push for tourism so everything seems to be well maintained and very clean.
As I was approaching the city center, I see that there are wide shopping streets here. What is nice is that there seem to be a lot of these shopping streets here in the center. Large portions of the city center have also been turned into pedestrian only streets which make walking here a pleasure. There is a major metro station nearby even if I didn’t need it. It was still morning but I can see that there are already a lot of people walking here. I think I would like exploring this part of the city.
