I was surprised to run into the Grand Theater of Albi, I was half expecting that the whole of Albi was just full of heritage structures and I never expected that there would be a modern structure in the form of the Grant Theater of Albi. It seems that location is one of the cultural districts of the town since there was another set of buildings here which also related to the performing arts. The
Cinéma de la Scène Nationale d’Albi as the name implies is a cinema. It is actually composed of two buildings one which is obviously older than the other.
I naturally turned my attention to the older looking structure. It was more elegant looking structure compared to its more modern neighbor. I couldn’t really tell how this place would be acinema but that was it says. The new door building appears to be a proper and modern cineplex. The films were in French, not that I was interested in seeing a movie anyway. The older structure didn’t seem to be open and I was wondering if I got the place right. No one was interested in the building either, I wasn’t sure if it was just because it was closed or it was never open in the first place.
