This was probably the worst day of my trip to southern France. Thbe weather has turned bad and it was raining the whole morning. I think it would be difficult to take photographs in this kind of weather. Complaining about it won’t change anything so I just have to make do with this weather. I was already fortunate enough to be able to visit this place so I should just enjoy it. I took a train from Toulouse to the city of Albi which isn’t really that far away.
As the train was pulling in to the train station, I was looking at the city and what struck me was the use of red brick here. It seems to be a common material in this region as I would later find out. When I stepped out of the train station, I wasn’t really sure where to go. I thought that the most reasonable place to visit here in the Episcopal City of Albi would be the cathedral. The cathedral in Albi is very difficult to miss. It is a very tall structure, probably even unnecessarily tall in my opinion. This cathedral basilica is one of the most important landmarks in the city. Keep in mind that the cathedral is tall so it would be further than you think it is. It is nothing bad but I found myself thinking that it was further than it looked.
