The Place de l’Horloge appears to be the main square in the medieval city of Avignon. As far as squares are concerned. This one in Avignon seems to be a little small. It didn’t help that it is line with several restaurants with the seats sticking out beyond the restaurant building for a la carte dining. I think it would have been nice to be dining here since they have outdoor heating for diners. I remember that some nights back there were rowdy customers who seemed to be yelling at each other. That is probably the downside of eating at a popular place, there will be more chances of encountering people like this.
The Place de l’Horloge, isn’t just a place for restaurants but in certain times of the year, they would hold events here. In this case, since it was the holiday season, there was an ice skating rink and a carousel. I thought the carousel was very nice and I haven’t seen one designed like this in a while. It is one of those stereotypical carousels you would see on television. Kids like this kind of thing, and I think it is nice, especially in the age of tablets. There are other important structures here such as a hotel and a theater which was especially nice.
