I was finished exploring the amazing Roman Theater of Orange and I was walking around the quaint little town of Orange. One probably won’t have an idea that this town was more than two thousand years old if it weren’t for the ancient theater. The town center isn’t very large and can be quickly explored in a few minutes. However, there are some gems that can be seen here. I went outside the town center and noticed a door which apparently was connected to a church. It wasn’t very obvious from where I was but apparently this was a cathedral.
Orange was probably more important back then than it is now. This church was a cathedral and it is now just a normal church. There didn’t seem to be any indication as too how old the church was, nor did it look that old either. What was amazing about it was how hidden it actually was. Most of the time, cathedrals tend to be grand and prominent. Not so with this one. The inside of the church was dark when I visited. It was difficult to see the interiors. It seems that it is still in the midst of restoration.
