Now that I know that there wasn’t a way back to the entrance where I came from, I had to retrace my steps as I work my way back. I thought it was rather strange that there was no way to go back to the entrance without doing this. I think a small bridge crossing the river would have been convenient for visitors. It could be that I just missed the bridge. It was just as well since I missed one important component of the park and that is the museum. These kinds of places usually have museums attached to them.

This is where visitors would be able to know more about the location through the use of exhibits or artifacts uncovered in the area. True enough, the museum was primarily about aqueducts and its use in the Roman empire. It is actually nothing really new but you get a new perspective of the aqueduct and they have models to make it easier to understand the workings of the aqueduct. The museum at Pont du Gard was very informative since I didn’t even know that the Pont du Gard was actually part of the Nimes waterway system. There were also examples of other aqueducts here in France and I was surprised that there were that many. This is perhaps due to my ignorance of world history.
