I finally was at the heart of the old city of Lyon in France. I don’t really know much about this but I guess this is why I’m here. The old city of Lyon was built on Fourvière hill and it is quite picturesque. It totally slipped my mind that to properly explore this town, I would need to climb the hill. I’m not very athletic but I won’t shy away from a little work out. Hopefully, it won’t be too bad. Not too far away from the river, there was a long flight of stairs which goes halfway up the hill. The signs were in French and I couldn’t tell where it leads to. I think it is time for some exploring.
The stairs leads halfway up the hill where it then reaches another path. I decided to take the left path which seems to keep going up. I noticed that this part of the town was a little quieter. There were still residences here and I thought it would have been a nice place to spend the night. However, it might not have been that good with a heavy backpack with you. There were signs of old structures here. I wasn’t sure what they were, it appears there were part of the walls of some large structure. These walls were made of brick and were quite tall. There were alcoves which seemed out be out of place here since there wasn’t anything in them nor can anyone see anything there since it is so high up. It it too bad where weren’t any signs tell visitors what these structures are.
