I was very excited to get a look at Vieux Lyon. It was almost like the town was designed for photographs. There was a hill on the other side of the river but there were still buildings built on its slopes. This made the most of the structures in Vieux Lyon visible. It also helps that Vieux Lyon appeared to be a very dense town with a lot of structures built side by side. Not a surprise since people would usually want to live close to where the town center is. I took the pedestrian bridge to cross the river. I also happens to lead right to another prominent landmark here in Vieux Lyon – Saint George’s Church.

Saint George’s Church is a Roman Catholic church built along the river Saône. When taking photos of Vieux Lyon, there is no missing this beautiful church. It is built at the foot of the modern pedestrian bridge. This spot has been a location of several churches before this one starting from the year 550. Unfortunately, the churches on this spot have been razed to the ground for one reason or another. The current church was completed in 1848. I wanted to enter the church for some photos but it seems the doors were locked that time of the morning. The church is Gothic, which probably means the interiors would have been very nice. Perhaps I would remember to come back to the church for photos.
