It was actually a parade of beautiful rooms at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. I got tired of it quickly too. It went through the other rooms of the royal castle and just kept following the trail. I eventually found myself going down to the basement. The cellar of the castle has been turned into a museum featuring various works of art. A lot of these works were sneaked out of the palace before the Nazi Germans could destroy the castle. Probably the point of destroying the castle was to underscore the dominance of their new masters.
There are noticeably less people here in the museum compared to other parts of the castle. It wasn’t clear what the cellar was used for back then. Perhaps it was just a storage area. Being below street level, it wasn’t very bright here. Normal stuff that are seen in historical museums can be found here. Paintings form the majority of the items on display here. A lot of the paintings here were of figures from Polish history who I don’t recognize. It is a wonder that these paintings were saved from destruction or people won’t be able to appreciate them anymore.
