I was very impressed with the interiors of the royal castle of Warsaw. Indeed, it is fit for a king. The palace can rival more well known palaces in the region. I can’t tell if there is a style in the architecture but it is definitely European. Perhaps what is most amazing about the royal castle was how young it really is. As it turns out, the castle is actually not even a hundred years old. I found out that the royal palace of Warsaw was destroyed in the World War II. Being the seat of the king, the castle was the first to be flattened by the Nazi Germans.
A lot of the precious artifacts were secreted out of the castle before it would be attacked. However, not everything was saved. The castle was still flattened along with its fabulous interiors. There were photos taken of the interiors prior to its destruction. After the war, it was decided that the royal castle be restored as much as possible to its former grandeur. Craftsmen from all over Poland helps to work on the restoration. The result, while it may not be 100% reproduction, is an amazing piece of work. Visitors would not know that this was just a reconstruction. Perhaps that may be a clue onto itself. The royal castle may look too good for it to be the original.
