The royal castle here in Warsaw started its life not as a castle but as the residence of the Duke of Masovia, where Warsaw of located. Soon, when the king decided to move the seat of the monarchy from Krakow to Warsaw, the structure naturally became the Royal Castle. Over the years, the castle has been extended to what it is today. Being the seat of the monarchy, the castle naturally has a throne room. It was not that difficult to tell that it is an important room.
I don’t know the customs of Polish monarchy but the throne room is characterized by the color red. It is a very striking room and the focus was obviously on a chair that serves as the throne. Surprisingly, the throne wasn’t that much elevated. I would imagine how a throne would actually be placed much higher than everything else. Instead, there is a platform of red which elevates the throne not by much. There were a lot of mirrors in this room which helps to make the room appear much larger than it really is. Curiously, the ceiling of the throne room was bare. Perhaps this is to give more importance to the throne more than anything else.
