Marble Room at the Royal Palace in Warsaw

My introduction to the Royal Castle of Warsaw wasn’t very special. The hall was uninspiring but it turned out that they weren’t interested in showing that part of the castle. The real interesting parts of the castle came after that. The Great Assembly Hall is a large conference room which reminded me a lot of the Palace of Versailles. The Warsaw royal palace isn’t a UNESCO World Heritage by itself but it is part of the old town of Warsaw site. I think I am beginning to see why. The rooms of the royal castle of Warsaw would have given the one in France a run for its money.

The next room would be just as impressive as the previous one. This is the Marble Room. As the name implies, the Marble Room is made primarily of marble. This room is much smaller. The walls and floor are all made of marble. There were portraits of historical figures here in this room, none of which I recognize. The ceiling is painted in a heavenly picture of angels. Perhaps trying to bring these people closer to heaven. The ceiling was also done in three dimensional style which makes it all the more impressive. It seems that I would be liking the royal castle much more than I expected.
