It was a rather disappointing day since I didn’t get to see the interior of Malbork Castle. It was actually a public holiday and I never considered that when going there. It does seem to be a lot of walking so maybe I didn’t miss too much. I head back to Warsaw earlier than planned. There was no point in me staying in Malbork with the main sight closed. I was lucky they don’t check your ticket if it was the correct time, it seems that all they care was that the destination was correct. By this time, I had gotten used to how to get back to the Old Town by public transportation. There was a bus stop across the street from Warsaw Central. It was only a short hop to the old town.
By the time I got back to Warsaw, it was already dinner time. It was just as well since I only had a small sandwich for my lunch. I have been to a few of these restaurants and they seem to be quite good. I was trying to avoid to repeat a restaurant so I ended up outside the walls of the old town. There is this place called Podwale 25. It seemed to be an affordable place and it serves pork knuckle. I had pork knuckle in Krakow but I had the boiled one. This time I want to try the roasted one. It was then I realized that this was exactly the same place I ate at in Krakow. It had the same logo but a different name. Not surprising since the restaurant in Krakow was named after its famous neighbor Wawel Castle. This restaurant in Warsaw had an uninspiring name but who cares. The roasted pork knuckle was okay. The way the pork knuckles are done in this part of the world, the skins tends to be tougher. I like my pork knuckle skin crispier. I ended up finishing the entire knuckle minus some skin. I flushed it all down with some Polish beer Książęce.
