It seems that Malbork was more than just the castle. I was impressed with the size of the Malbork Castle. Even if I didn’t managed to get in the castle. Just taking photos of the castle from the outside was satisfying for me. I decided to head back to the Warsaw since there wasn’t much for me to see here. I happened to pass by what appeared to be a residential complex and saw some interesting structures. It seems that some buildings in Malbork have been preserved quite well. I originally thought that this was a church but it seems that it wasn’t. This is the town hall of Malbork.
For a town hall of an active town, it looks like the building is a bit too run down. Perhaps, they didn’t want to touch the structure since it is a heritage structure. Like the castle, it is made of brick and despite the look, it is actually quite attractive. Another nearby structure is called Pub Baszta. This was a strange one since it looks like an old water tower. Naturally, I interpreted the name in English and thought that it might be some kind of bar. The structure outside looked bad and needed a lot of repair. The internet show pictures of it in operation as a bar and it seems to be quite lively. The look from the outside would suggest that this is a place which no one should bother with. This is a flight of stairs from the outside, maybe that’s how people go in.
