I think that the Malbork Castle is an attractive castle. The red brick is certainly a good material to use when it comes to photography. However, I have been scratching my head on how to take a photo of the castle. Malbork Castle is the largest castle in the world by land area. One can imagine how difficult it would be to take a photo of such a large place. Unfortunately, there was no nearby hill for me to climb to take a proper photo from. There is a river behind the castle where you can get a good enough distance away from the castle to see how large it really is.
The River Nogat runs behind the castle. There is a small bridge nearby which allows you to cross the River Nogat. The Nogat isn’t that wide and pretty soon I was on the opposite bank of the river. I needed to walk a little further down to get a proper view of the castle. It was here that I get to appreciate the scale of the castle. There used to be several thousands of people living in the castle. This naturally necessitated a large area. The current castle is the result of numerous expansions. The river provides a good foreground for the photo, unfortunately, the sky was overcast and I didn’t get proper photo. I was just happy that my lens is able to take a photo of the castle in its entirety.
