I was walking a surprising amount that day but it wasn’t very productive here at Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. The UNESCO World Heritage site is a calvary which covers a substantial amount of ground. It is substantial enough for me to give up on this place. I have been to the monastery which I think is the most important place here so I decided to head back. It was slightly easier to get back since I was going downhill. The trouble with walking is parts of the path do not have footpaths and I would be walking on the road. This is most especially true in one particularly sharp turn. If a driver was not careful, they might run someone over.
I head back to the the bus stop in town. This was the same bus stop which I took to come here. I decided to continue on the route which leads to a slightly larger town of Wadowice. I didn’t know about this town at first but I found out that it is related to one of Poland’s and probably the world’s most influential figures – Saint Pope John Paul II. I probably didn’t originally intend to visit Wadowice but seeing as to how close it actually was from Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, I decided to go for it. There is a bus which brings people to the town of Wadowice. The driver didn’t speak English but he knew what I meant.
