The Church of Saint Michael in Binarowa was certainly impressive. Unsurprisingly, it looks much like the other churches which I have visited earlier in the day. The Church of Saint Michael was maintained over the centuries and it still stands today. I like the look of this type of architecture and their liberal use of wood. The use of wood as shingles was interesting particularly when used in the body of the church itself. The roof used darker shingles which contrasts quite nicely with the warm color of the brown wood.
It feels kind of strange to know that I was walking up a UNESCO World Heritage site like this without any people around. I think this was one of those places which are not readily accessible to mass tourism in Poland. Tourists probably just stick to Krakow and its surrounding areas but only a few would venture this far out. The visitors I do meet in these places appear to be Polish people too, at least I assume there were Polish since they were speaking the same language. I am impressed with the level of care that was given this church. This is to make sure it last another five hundred years.
