I was very impressed with the Church of All Saints in Blizne. This was my first stop in visiting the Wooden Churches of Southern Lesser Poland UNESCO World Heritage site. I find these places attractive and unique. This is probably a result of culture where people are used to using wood as construction material. I say it is not a bad choice. The church is not the only wooden structure in the area. There were two other structures here which are also made of wood. They are not as visually striking at the main church but they were interesting just for the fact that they are also made of wood.
I would guess that these two are used by the church. I would imagine that the larger one, which looks like a log cabin, would be the parish office while the other one would be just a storage house. There was another vehicle here but I didn’t see anyone outside. The whole time I was at the church, I was the only one there perhaps it was still too early though it was already eleven in the morning. It took me two hours to get here from Krakow. With that in mind, I need to keep on moving so I can cover as much as I can.
